Rizal's Manuscripts at the National Library, 17 Sept 2010

Yup, I know this photo isn't of Rizal. It's of Epifanio de los Santos, a former director of the National Library and the man after whom our main thoroughfare is named. Click on his image and you will see the rest of the pictures in the album. ~ rs

  2. Not just see it, Tarie but touch it! It seems there are two schools of thought about handling such artifacts. One says to always wear gloves when handling such old paper. This will keep one's body oils from affecting the paper. The other school says that using gloves will keep one from feeling the paper and actually increase the chances of one holding it too firmly and thereby increasing the chance of damaging it. Something new every day.

  3. Thanks Rayvi...the debate on that issue is on-going...

Just a note : when touching materials with bare hands, make sure hands are clean! And please, wash with antibacterial soap after touching it...for health reasons.
